Service Request Terms
These terms apply to all service requests and inquiries submitted through this website.
Important: Draft pending owner and counsel approval
A request is not an accepted assignment
Submitting the online request form initiates a request for service. It is not formal confirmation that Downey Legal Process Server and Messenger Service has accepted the assignment, and it does not create a binding deadline commitment until confirmed. Each request is evaluated promptly, and you are contacted regarding availability and next steps.
You supply the instructions
Downey Legal Process Server and Messenger Service performs the service described in your request using the exact names, addresses, dates, and instructions you supply. Our office does not verify that an address is current, that an attached document is the correct pleading, or that a selected method of service is procedurally appropriate for your matter.
No legal advice
Downey Legal Process Server and Messenger Service is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Nothing on this website, in our intake forms, or in correspondence about an assignment constitutes a legal opinion or strategic recommendation on your case.
Documents and accuracy
Requesters are solely responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all uploaded or delivered documents, and for maintaining full legal authority to direct service in the matter. The name entered as authorizing person is recorded with the request.
Payment is handled outside this website
No price is quoted and no payment is accepted through this website. Service fees, if applicable, are discussed directly with the owner and invoiced outside this software system.
Cancellation
A request that has not yet been accepted by our office may be withdrawn by contacting the office with its reference number. Cancellations after work has commenced are handled case by case under terms published by the owner.
Changes
These terms may be updated periodically. The version active when you submit an assignment is the version applicable to that request, and the timestamp of your acknowledgement is preserved with the file.
